Severe Thunderstorm Watch in Effect Across Bowie County

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Bowie County and much of Northeast Texas until 10:00 PM CDT. The watch includes Bowie, Camp, Cass, Gregg, Harrison, Marion, Morris, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby, Titus, and Upshur counties. Storms that develop this afternoon and evening may produce damaging wind gusts, large hail, frequent lightning, and heavy downpours.

Residents should remain weather-aware, secure loose outdoor items, and be prepared to move indoors if a warning is issued for your area. A watch means conditions are favorable for severe storms; a warning means severe weather is occurring or imminent and immediate action should be taken.
