If you travel I-30 through Texarkana, here's what you need to know right now. The Kings Highway overpass is down — demolition crews have finished removing the bridge as part of TxDOT's 19-month widening project.
Westbound traffic is back on I-30 before Kings Highway, but drivers are still being diverted onto the frontage road at State Line. Eastbound remains on the frontage road all the way through the construction zone.
TxDOT says the updated traffic pattern is expected to stay in place until late summer of 2027. The new bridge will be taller, wider, and will include shared-use lanes for cyclists and sidewalks for pedestrians. For the latest road conditions, check drivetexas.com.
