Texarkana's Wildest Radio Station!

The U.S. Army has conditionally awarded EnergyX a long-term lease to build the facility on about 100 acres at the depot. EnergyX would finance, build, and run the plant themselves — the Army keeps the land and gets paid back through infrastructure improvements instead of taxpayer dollars.
This ties directly into EnergyX's Project Lonestar, the lithium extraction project pulling from the Smackover Formation that runs under East Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana. You may remember EnergyX opened their demonstration plant at TexAmericas Center near Texarkana back in March — the largest direct lithium extraction demo facility in the country.
If the lease gets finalized, construction could start as early as 2027 with the facility up and running by 2028. EnergyX says this could mean serious job growth for our region.
