🚨 ARKANSAS STATE POLICE ARREST HOT SPRINGS MAN FOR IMPERSONATING A SHERIFF'S DEPUTY

A 66-year-old Hot Springs man is facing serious charges after Arkansas State Police say he was driving around Ouachita and Dallas counties in a black Chevrolet Tahoe — loaded with blue lights, a siren, law enforcement radios, and a bulletproof vest marked "SHERIFF" — while claiming to be a deputy.

Dennis Truelove was stopped TWICE on June 26th. The first time, on U.S. 79 in Ouachita County, he told an ASP Criminal Investigation Division agent he worked for the Ouachita County Sheriff's Office. The problem? The Sheriff's Office said they had no deputy matching his description — and no black Tahoe assigned to the agency.

Truelove was stopped again on State Highway 9 in Dallas County near Holly Springs, where he presented a Sheriff's badge and ID card. He was arrested and booked into the Ouachita County Detention Center on charges of First-Degree Criminal Impersonation, Unlawful Use of Blue Lights, and multiple traffic offenses.

A search warrant executed on his vehicle turned up additional blue lights, a siren, and law enforcement radios.
Bond was set at $10,000 in Ouachita County Circuit Court on Monday.

If you've encountered this man or the vehicle, contact ASP Troop F at (870) 226-3713.
